Mother, daughter from UK become surrogate mums

London, Sep 21 (ANI): A British mother and her daughter have created medical history by becoming surrogate mums for needy couples.

Big-hearted Jacqui Shields has given birth to five babies since she began helping childless couples nine years ago and now, her daughter Becky was so motivated that she also decided to walk on mother's footsteps.

Even though the 21-year-old never had a baby of her own, she gave birth to a little girl for a delighted couple last year.

"I'm incredibly proud to have followed in mum's footsteps. She always said that making other families happy was the best feeling in the world," the Sun quoted the young surrogate mom as saying.

Jacqui, 43, who has three children of her own - became a surrogate even though she has been sterilised. Her first surrogates were twins.

"The couple were so thrilled. It was amazing," Jacqui, of Winsford, Cheshire said cheerfully.

Jacqui, who runs an ironing business, was stunned when Becky told her she wanted to be a surrogate. I am not aware of any other mum and daughter cases like this," Mark Sedler, a fertility doctor, concluded. (ANI)
