Google inserts 'extra protection' against hacking
On Monday, Sep 20, Google introduced the additional security measure which will require typing a six-digit code after an account holder's Google password is entered. The codes will be sent to people's mobile phones.
The new measure will protect the accounts using two passwords, the real Google password of the account and the six-digit code. Users can ask Google to remember the code for the account on the computer where they had logged-in.
Google officials told that the new extra protection initially will be offered to companies and government agencies subscribing to a Google service that provides e-mail and other office applications. Google also told that the new protection will be available for Gmail users soon.
