Yamuna
New Delhi, Sep 20: As the threat of terrorism has cast a dark cloud over the Commonwealth Games following the Jama Masjid firing, fear of flooding has come back to haunt the national capital as Yamuna crosses danger mark yet again.

Haryana released over six lakh cusecs of water on Monday, Sep 20, causing the Yamuna to swell.

The River has touched 205.55 meters, after receiving 6.11 lakhs cusecs of water in the past few hours from Hathini Barrage.

Incessant rains since Sunday, Sep 19 also contributed to the increase in the water level in the river

The situation is being monitored around the clock, officials said.

The low-lying areas have already been evacuated.
