Kanishka bomber lied 27 times: Canadian court
On Saturday, Sep 18, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the British Columbia Supreme Court jury found Inderjit Singh Reyat, only person convicted in the 1985 Air India bombing, guilty of lying under oath during his testimony in the trial against his alleged co-conspirators in the plot, Ajaib Singh Bagri and Ripudaman Singh Malik.
Flight 182, from Montreal to London, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Ireland when a suitcase bomb exploded, killing all 329 people on board in 1985.
The 58-year-old Reyat was convicted for his role in gathering materials for the bomb and was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to manslaughter in Feb 2003.
