Kuala Lumpur, Sept. 18 (ANI): The case surrounding A. Muthuraja, the missing Indian millionaire is getting more mysterious and intriguing by the day.

Now, his wife - Usharani and brother - Kashi, claim that they allegedly paid Malaysian RM 80, 000 to Elil from Batu Caves to ensure Muthuraja's safe return to India.lil had informed them that Muthuraja was in police custody over a drug-related case.

"He said that 80,000 Malaysian Ringgit was required for my husband's release and even booked a ticket on a night flight for Muthuraja on the purported day of release," The Star quoted Usharani, as saying.

As scheduled, Kasi paid the money and waited at the airport to board the same flight as Muthuraja along with Elil, who brought his ticket with him. But Muthuraja didn't turn up.

"But my husband was not on the flight and Kasi came back alone," Usharani said.

Later, Elil told Kasi, Muthuraja would be charged first before making the necessary payment to secure his release.

On return, Kasi called Elil, who told him that the authorities had not released Muthuraja as promised, hinting that he might not be in police custody. They were asked to advertise in Malaysian newspapers by him.

Usharani denied mentioning this in the report she lodged at the Banting police station on September 8, saying she forgot to do it.

Muthuraja, a lawyer by profession, has been missing since January this year. (ANI)
