London, Sept 18 (ANI): A teacher in Britain has been given permission to continue her career even though homemade pornographic films in which she starred were found on her classroom computer.

Jane Moyle, 45, was sacked for gross misconduct when the explicit films were discovered at her village primary school, but she was told she would not be struck off the teaching register.

Described by her former headmaster as "gregarious, outgoing and sociable", Moyle is said to have made up to 80 sex films at home with her husband Colin, 49, who is also a teacher.

Nine of them were kept on her school issue computer where they were said to be just "two clicks" away from the sight of children as young as five in her classroom.

The amateur pornography was discovered when IT experts noticed the intimate material, which had been filmed at the couple's detached home in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales.

She was subsequently accused of professional misconduct by the General Teaching Council for Wales, appearing at a disciplinary hearing where she faced being struck off the teaching register.

"She was a willing and informed participant in the making and sale of the material," the Daily Mail quoted Gareth Jones, former vice-chair of governors at the school, as telling the hearing.

"There were so many images we felt there was no way she would not have known they were there," he stated.

The hearing in Cardiff was told that 12 photo shoots of sex scenes were also saved on the laptop, and a further 80 video clips featuring Moyle were found on an adult website.

"In such a small village, this would have brought the school into disrepute. The school and the council didn't issue the computer for the purpose of putting pornographic films on there," school governor Clive Tovey said.

Allowed to give her evidence in private, Moyle told the hearing she was not aware that the pornography was stored on the laptop, and that the videos had been for her husband's private use and she did not know they were for sale.

Moyle's husband has confirmed to investigating officials that he distributed the homemade sex films without his wife's knowledge.

She was handed a two-year reprimand to go on her file, but she will be allowed to look for another job in a school.

"This was a serious lapse of professional judgment. But her actions were naive, not deliberate," committee chairman Jacquie Turnbull added. (ANI)
