Chennai, Sep 17: Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna failed in the first singles match against Brazil's Thomaz Belluci in Davis Cup at Nungambakkam stadium in Chennai on Friday, Sep 17.

Thomaz Bellucci, ranked 27 in the world, won the match 6-7, 7-6, 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 after slogging for four-and-a-half hours against India's new found tennis wonder Rohan Bopanna, ranked 479.

After splitting the first two sets, the Brazilian broke Bopanna in the eleventh game of the third set and then held serve to win the all important third set.
