Ranchi, Sep 12: After the alignment of BJP-JMM, Arjun Munda, as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand, has taken the oath on Saturday, Sep 11.

The 42-year-old BJP leader, Munda has the support of 45 MLAs in the assembly with an effective strength of 81.

Despite of several reports about the disturbances among the party over the alignment, most of the top BJP leaders including LK Advani presented in the oath taking ceremony.

BJP was parted away from its tie with JMM after the former Jharkhand CM, Shibu Soren supported the UPA government during voting on cut motions in Lok Sabha in 2010.

After the vote in Lok Sabha, President's Rule had been imposed in Jharkhand on Jun 1, 2010 with the Assembly being put under suspended animation after BJP withdrew support to the Shibu Soren-led government.
