No flood in Commonwealth Games Village: Delhi govt

Delhi, Sep 9: As the Yamuna river continues to flow above the danger mark at 204.83metres, the Delhi government assured that there is danger of flood to the Commonwealth Games Village.

The report came after a high-level meeting on Thursday,Sep 9 to discuss the flood alert in the capital. The government says there is no need for panic, as additional boats and pumps have been put into action, and all low lying areas facing the danger of flooding evacuated.

The government also expects the water level in the Yamuna to go up by Friday, Sep 10 as six lakh cusecs of water was released from the Hatnikund barrage, which is expected to reach Delhi On Thursday night.
