New Delhi, Sep 9: After meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir met Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Defence Minister AK Antony on Wednesday, Sep 8 seeking support on partial withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the state.

Sources said that meeting with Mukherjee went around half-an-hour and assured Omar of complete support of the Centre in dealing with the present situation.

While Omar stressed that AFSPA should be withdrawn partially, Antony is believed to have told Omar about the reservation of the Army for any amendment or partial withdrawal of AFSPA from at least four districts of the state ahead of crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) which is to take place on Friday Sep 10.
