US: Nadal enters 4th round, Simon happy to go home

By Samyuktha
New York, Sep 6: Top seeded Rafael Nadal continued to move towards that crucial US Open title to deck his dazzling career as he dished out a 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 defeat to Gilles Simon of France on Sunday, Sep 5.

The Spaniard will next face will face 23rd-seeded compatriot Feliciano Lopez in the fourth round.

Interestingly, the third-round match was sort of a win-win situation as Simon has been raring to go home ever since he became a father to a baby boy three days ago. Simon"s son, Timothee was reportedly born four weeks earlier than expected.

“I"m impatient to see my baby. The third set I have to say that I was already in the plane," Simon said.

Earlier after his second round victory, the France ace had said that if he lost to Nadal, he hoped the match would end early enough to allow him to catch a night plane to Paris.
