Maoists free three Bihar policemen
As per the latest inputs, three policemen Abhay Yadav, Rupesh Kumar Sinha, Mohammad Ehsan Khan have been found in Lakhisarai forests on Monday, Sep 6 morning.
The hostage drama has been on for nine days ever since it began last Sunday, Aug 29 when Maoists abducted four policemen and held them hostage in demand of the release of eight jailed rebels.
One of the policemen, Lucas Tete was killed on Thursday, Sep 2 as government failed to act initially.
On Saturday, Sep 4, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held all-party meet and appealed to the rebels to come for talks.
“We will allow them safe passage if Maoists come for talks," the chief minister said after the meeting.
Besides this, the Maoists were forced to re-think the situation as two of their comrades were arrested.
Details on the condition of the three released policemen are awaited.
