US Open fan brawl video hits internet

By Samyuktha
New York, Sep 4: After the foul-mouthed tirade of Serena Williams in 2009 semi finals put off many tennis lovers, a fan brawl at the ongoing US Open has brought back the same bad taste in the mouth.

An altercation began between a young man, an older woman and the father of the woman during a match between Novak Djokovic and Philipp Petzschner on Thursday, Sep 2 night in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The brawl broke out when the woman slapped the man in the face while trying to correct his language. Soon, the father jumped into action as well.

The scandalous trio created so much disturbance that the police had to escort them out. They have been banned from attending the rest of the matches.

The video of the fight shot by one of the spectators in the stadium has now hit the internet.

The match was interrupted shortly.

Commenting on the incident, US Tennis Association spokesman said, "It"s a hot night in New York. Things happen."

Djokovic later went ahead and defeated Petzschner 7-5 6-3 7-6.
