All Americans be alert during CWG: US

Washington, Sep 2: The United States on Wednesday, Sep 1 asked its citizens to be alert and cautious of their security during the upcoming Commonwealth Games period in Oct.

"The US government has no information on any specific threat of attack that any individual or group is planning to coincide with the Games," the State Department said in its latest India-travel alert.

"In the event the US government receives information of any specific threat, the Department of State would provide information on that threat to the public immediately," the State Department said.

"US citizens planning on traveling to India during the CWG should carefully read the State Department's country specific information for India and check www.travel.state.gov for up-to-date Travel Alerts or Travel Warnings on safety and security issues," it said.

"All US citizens in or traveling to India are urged to enroll with the US Mission in India to receive these alerts as quickly as possible," the State Department said.

This Travel Alert expires on Nov 15, 2010, the State Department said.
