20-year-old Shahnaz Bibi, resident of Behak Dayam village near Sargodha in Pakistan's Punjab province, cut off the nose of Bashir Ahmed, a neighbour and father of four, with a knife on Friday, Aug 27.
Police said that Shahnaz had called Ahmed to a nearby farm on the pretext of having a chat with him. After chopping off his nose, Shahnaz fled.
Ahmed was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. He was later sent to Mayo Hospital in Lahore for specialised treatment.
The police has registered a case against four people including Shahnaz and her brother Azeem.
This incident comes after an anti-terrorism court in Pakistan had in Dec 2009, ordered the chopping off of noses and ears of two men for inflicting similar injuries on a woman they kidnapped.
