Indian business delegates visit Shanghai Expo

Shanghai, Aug 19: Indian business delegation led by Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, visited the Shanghai World Expo 2010.

An India Business Forum was held in the expo on Thursday, Aug 19, which was attended by Chinese and Indian delegates and members from different sectors of the industry. Addressing the Forum, Indian Ambassador to China, Dr S Jaishankar called upon Indian and Chinese enterprises to avail the huge trade and investment opportunities in the two countries and work towards strengthening bilateral relationship.

Chairman Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Dr Sha Hailin, told that economic relation and trade between India and China had grown substantially and he invited Indian companies to invest in Shanghai.

The leader of the Indian delegation for the Forum, B Muthuraman, told that India and China were globally viewed as engine of growth. He stated that many Indian manufacturing companies were interested to invest in China.

Presentations were made on investment opportunities in India, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Urban Planning and Real Estate Development and Pharmaceuticals and Chemicals.
