Building collapse kills 10 in Thane
A portion of the four-storeyed building in Kalva was collapsed on Tuesday, Aug 17 evening. Police officials and fire fighters started rescue operations to find people who buried under the debris. Heavy rains affected the rescue operations.
Police told that 40-year old building had developed cracks following tremors and some of the inmates were shifted to other places fearing collapse. The building had two wings with 16 tenements on each side, of which one portion came down.
