Nokia announces new touch mobile, X3 Touch & Type

Espoo, (Finland), Aug 17: Nokia, the leading mobile producer in the world, announced the launch of it's first mobile to pack a touchscreen and a regular alphanumeric keypad simultaneously.

The new phone, Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type, has 2.4 inch QVGA touchscreen and 5 megapixel camera with 5X digital zoom and video recording.

It also has dedicated function keys for important links like music and text messaging. The connectivity features include HSPA, WLAN 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, MicroUSB and 3.5 mm AV connector.

The users can download unlimited music and applications from Ovi store. It will supports memory upto 16 GB on micro SD cards. X3-02 Touch and Type also features 3G, Music player and FM radio.

"Innovation is not just a high-end game. The Nokia X3 is a great example of bringing new consumer value to lower price points," said Mary McDowell, Executive Vice President of Mobile Phones at Nokia.

"We have designed the Nokia X3 to be a touch and type device because typing is ideal for SMS and social networking where fast and frequent input is needed, while touch is ideal for functions such as setting alarms, smooth browsing and controlling applications like music and games," he added.
