Singapore, Aug 17: Expressing confidence that India will successfully hold the Commonwealth Games 2010, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge has blamed the "pessimistic media" for the questions being raised against the country's competence.
"I'm optimistic in spite of everything written by pessimist media for the Commonwealth Games," Mr Rogge told an international new agency.
"They will show the capacity of India to organize great games," the president added while speaking on the sidelines of the Youth Olympics 2010 being held in Singapore.
Rogge's confidence in India's capability to hold the Games comes in the backdrop of a mess that has unfolded over a slew of corruption and irregularities allegations as well as delay in project work.
