London, Aug 15 (ANI): Prince William is preparing to tie the knot Kate Middleton, according to Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell.

Burrell said that the royal is preparing to marry his girlfriend in a ceremony that will pay homage to his late mother.

The couple, both 28, will exchange vows next summer after an engagement in the New Year, according to Burrell.

"I think Kate's a summer bride, so I believe they will marry in July 2011," the Daily Express quoted Burrell as telling OK! USA.

Speaking of the engagement, he said: "It usually precurses the wedding by about four or five months. They will probably announce the date on the same day as the engagement."

Burrell revealed that the wedding, likely to be at Westminster Abbey, would feature lots of Diana touches, thanks to William.

"I'm sure William wouldn't mind me saying that his mother is never far from his thoughts. She had a massive influence on his life. You'll see little signs: the flowers - roses, lilies and even sweet peas she used to pick in the garden," Burrell said.

He said Diana and William had liked the same food, and "lots of fresh fish" would be served.

"It wouldn't surprise me if something on the wedding reception menu was grown or bred on the royal estate, for instance Scottish salmon caught in the River Dee," Burrell said.

Burrell said a consignment sent to the royal household signified that preparations were under way.

"A huge shipment of Krug champagne has already been delivered to Buckingham Palace, which is unusual. Buckingham Palace doesn't usually buy in massive amounts," Burrell said. (ANI)
