Bangalore: Infy techie's wife murdered in robbery

Bangalore, Aug 10: In a spine-chilling case of murder and robbery, two miscreants slit the throat of an Infosys techie's wife and stole money and jewellery worth over Rs 2 lakhs in Bangalore's Hulimavu, on Bannerghatta road on Tuesday, Aug 10 morning.

The two culprits swooped down on the house of Satish Gupta, a software engineer working with Infosys, on Tuesday, Aug 10 morning when his wife, Priya Gupta (27), who working as a teacher in Delhi Public School, was all alone.

Satish had gone to his morning walk when the two approached Priya as newspaper delivery boys.

Suspecting something amiss, the wife immediately called Satish to ask him if he had asked for newspaper delivery, to which he said no and cautioned Priya against opening the door to strangers before he returned.

When he returned home, he found his wife dead. Priya's hands and legs were tied-up and her throat was slit.

The culprits killed Priya and fled away with money and valuables worth over Rs 2 lakhs, informed officers at the Hulimavu Police Station, where an FIR has been filed and an investigation has been launched.
