Landslide kills 65 in China's Gansu Province
Beijing, Aug 8 (ANI): At least 65 people have been killed in landslides triggered by heavy rain in north-west China's Zhouqu County in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province.
"At least 50,000 people have been affected as floods had submerged half of the county and many houses were buried by landslides," Xinhua quoted Mao Shengwu, the head of the prefecture, as saying.
Rescue operations are being carried out in different parts of the region.
Over 1,000 people have been killed this year by floods that have affected much of central and southern China. (ANI)
