Rain heavily hits Chhattisgarh and Darjeeling
New Delhi, Aug 7: Rainfall crippled Chhattisgarh with 300 villages under water and completely isolated.
According to CNN-IBN, Bastar has been the worst affected in the state with three national highways NH43, NH16 and NH22 completely submerged.
The traffic, rescue and relief operations had been hampered badly for the flood situation.
As the channel showed, flood fury was also felt in the east, with NH55, the lifeline of Darjeeling, disrupted again due to massive landslides, which were a result of heavy downpour on Thursday, Aug 5.
The landslide had blocked all road links from Siliguri in the foothills to various other places in Darjeeling district.
Local residents complained of poor relief and rescue operations.
