Infy BPO to be service provider to Global Group

New Delhi, Aug 5: The IT giant Infosys has announced that its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) had got a deal from IT firm Global Group to deliver services in the field of IT for a period of 20 months.

Telecom infrastructure firms GTL Ltd and GTL Infra owner Global Group had made the contract with Infosys BPO to provide services with regard to setting up of the Shared Service Centre (SSC).

Specific operational tasks, including accounting, human resources, payroll, IT, legal, compliance, purchasing, and security are carried out by SSC.

Infosys BPO on Wednesday, Aug 4, stated that more than 1,000 personnel will be employed after the completion of SSC.

As part of the deal, Infosys BPO will provide consulting and implementation services across key functions, including finance and accounting, human resources, sourcing and procurement, sales and fulfilment, legal services and IT.

"This deal reiterates our focus on the domestic business in India and value-addition to businesses and clients in India," said Infosys BPO head S Vaitheeswaran.
