Indian football team thrashes Portugal club 6-2

Pilado (Portugal), Jul 30: Indian football team defeated Portugal club Desportivo Monsanto 6-2 in the second practice match in Portugal.

During the practice match on Thursday, Jul 28, striker Mohammed Rafi scored two goals and Anthony Pereira, Renedy Singh, Clifford Miranda and Abhishek Yadav scored one goal each.

India made two changes in the starting line-up that played in the first match against Desportivo das Caldas with Subrata Pal making way for Subhasish Roy Choudhury, while Clifford Miranda replaced the injured Steven Dias.

Desportivo Monsanto scored the first goal and took a surprising lead in the 17th minute. But Renedy Singh scored an equaliser in 20th minute from the penalty spot.

Then Rafi scored the second goal for the visitors in the 40th minute. Later Pereira and Yadav scored one goal each before the break.

During the second half, Rafi scored his second and India's fifth in 58th minute.
Miranda scored the last goal for India in the 65th minute and later in 78th minute Desportivo Monsanto decreased the deficit by scoring the second goal for the team.

Indian football team started the Portugal tour on Thursday, Jul 1 for preparations for the 2011 Asian Cup in Doha.
