Islamabad, July 29(ANI): A Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official has said that the Airblue plane crash near Islamabad on Wednesday morning was because of a 'pressure' fault in the plane.

According to The News, the CAA official, on condition of anonymity, said that the pressure disc or plate of the plane was not working perfectly.

"The CAA often warns technical staff of airlines to change pressure discs to boom pressure, but technical staff takes this matter non-seriously," the newspaper quoted him, as saying.

He also ruled out weather being behind the crash, highlighting that other flights were taking off and landing perfectly.

"Concerned pilot could not handle the plane with dead pressure and it fell down," he added.

The Airblue plane, which took off at 7.50 a.m. from Karachi to Islamabad, carrying 152 people, including six crewmembers, had crashed behind the mountains of Margalla Hills.

At least 58 of 152 killed in the crash have been identified, and handed over to the families.

The pilot was reportedly trying to land at Islamabad on schedule at 9.30 a.m., but was told to wait as the airport was busy.

The Pakistan government has formed two separate investigation teams to determine the actual cause of the crash. (ANI)
