New Delhi, Jul 29: After giving controversial remarks on Commonwealth Games, now former sports minister Mani Shankar Aiyar said that, he will speak about Commonwealth Games only after Oct 15, when the event gets over, as he has been asked to keep mum on the issue.

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Mani Shankar Aiyar, said, "now that everybody is talking about it, I think, now I do not need to say anything more and I have promised that I will keep my mouth shut because somebody asked me to do so. Now, I will open my mouth after Oct 15."

Mani Shankar said that his criticism of the Commonwealth Games 2010 was nothing new and he had taken this stand since the last two years. He wondered why there was a hue and cry on the issue from last few days.

"I am very delighted that what I have been saying for such a long time, now the whole country is aware of it," he added.

However, he denied that party high command had passed a gag order against him.

On Tuesday, Jul 27, Mani Shankar Aiyar said he would be unhappy if the Commonwealth Games were a success and that only evil will patronise them. He also critizised the money being spent for the Oct mega-event.
