World's oldest Twitter user dies in Britain
London, Jul 29: Britain's oldest Tweeter, who boasted more over 56,000 followers on the site, has died in her sleep at the age of 104.
Ivy Bean, from Bradford, joined the micro-blogging site in 2008, and soon attracted attention for being the oldest tweeter.
Ivy, a former mill worker, kept followers updated on her life even from the hospital.
Pat Wright, manager of Hillside Manor where Ivy Bean lived, broke the news on her Twitter feed.
"She didn't have a bad word to say about anybody. She was a real lady, an inspiration." he said.
"She loved every minute of it. The media was a big part of her life. She would not have expected to go quietly," Wright added.
Her celebrity followers included pop singer Peter Andre, Chris Evans and ex-prime minister's wife Sarah Brown.
Pop star Peter Andre, who met Ms Bean in September 2009, siad, "She was a lovely woman who had a brilliant sense of humour and we have stayed in touch since we met."
