Senior leader Ratnakar Mahajan resigns from NCP
Mumbai, Jul 27: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ratnakar Mahajan has resigned from the party on Tuesday, Jul 27.
"I have resigned from the primary membership of NCP as it became impossible to continue in the organisation after the vindictive criticism against me following my suggestion for merger," said Mahajan.
Mahajan has been a member of NCP since it's formation in 1999. Earlier he had demanded for the merge of NCP with Congress.
He told that he had sent resignation letter to party president Sharad Pawar on Wednesday, Jul 21.
"I decided to quit the party as instead of positive reaction to my suggestion, I was met with negative reaction and a vindictive diatribe against me," Mahajan added.
