New Delhi, Jul 26: After sex scandal, now Hockey India had come under another controversy over former Indian captain Pargat Singh's comment on IOA chief Suresh Kalmadi.
Pargat on Monday, Jul 26 said that Kalmadi is the "dirty face of Indian sports."
Pargat claimed that Kalmadi is desperate to maintain control over the game's administration by interfering in the much-awaited polls, which is going to be held on Jul 28.
"Kalmadi is the dirty face of Indian sports. He is a destroyer. He talks of the Olympic movement but he has destroyed the Olympic institution. Such dirty people should be thrown out of sports," said Pargat.
Pargat had also claimed that Kalmadi, violating the government's guidelines, is backing an 83-year-old Vidya Stokes for the job.
Kalmadi had been accused as he is only concerned about keeping his control and least bothered about the sport.
"Who are they to tell they don't want government's assistance, it is the house to decide," asked Pargat.
He also asked, "if the government's recognition is not there, how can the Indian team participate in international tournaments?"
