Chennai airport: Pilot saves 182 lives
Chennai, Jul 26: The pilot of a Jeddah-bound Saudi Airlines flight had detected smoke coming out of its engines and directed the plane to safety in Chennai airport on Monday, Jul 26.
The flight with 182 passengers was about to take off when the pilot saw smoke.
According to the officials, the plane was moving on the runway when the pilot detected the smoke and immediately contacted the control room to steer it back to the parking bay.
All the passengers were immediately evacuated from the plane, which was parked in the bay.
The flight took off after a three-hour delay.
