Bangalore, Jul 26: As Bangaloreans battle the spiraling prices drilling a hole in their pockets, a restaurant here has come up with a welcome offer as it has decided to celebrate its first anniversary by pricing food items like idli and dosa at Rs 1 apiece.
Cubbonpet Biryani Bazaar, which is located in the downtown Cubbon Pet area, will start serving up the Rs 1 idli-dosa on Tuesday, Jul 27.
The offer which has been named 'Bombat Breakfast', which translates into superb breakfast, will last for a period of six months.
Just like the price, the size of the idli will not get smaller - every piece of idli will weigh about 50 grams and dosa 80 grams, announced Cubbonpet Biryani Bazaar.
Giving the details of the offer, the restaurant owner M Puttaraju said, “Spice chatni may add value to the taste of idli and dosas. If anyone orders for non-veg gravy they will be given five idli and dosas at free of cost."
“It is the consumers they have grown us, so this is how we will be giving back to customers. But we will not compromise with the quality or the taste of the snacks," he added.
In line with his motto, "Customers are our kings", Puttaraju has successfully run the restaurant for a year by growing in popularity for not using substandard ingredients and by using only the home-made fresh oil.
The cooking is also done by firewood as against cooking gas or kerosene.
"We cook foods just the way residents do in rural areas," the proud owner said.
These promises of healthy ingredients and good cooking practices only add to the luring factor of the Rs 1 first anniversary offer.
At these prices, it is obivious that the restaurant will not be making any profit. However, Puttaraju will definitely be winning over some very faithful costumer kings.
