Jharkhand: Maoists torch coal mine
Jharkhand, Jul 25: Around 1 am, suspected Maoists burned a coal mine in Jharkhand's Latehar District on Saturday, Jul 24.
"They started putting all the machines on fire. They left after lighting all the machines. They also beat up people and warned that without their order no work shall be carried out," said Vinod Bhukhte, a security guard.
"The plant had closed down and almost all the equipment had been shifted to another location, nothing much was left. There were only a few machines and a few boulders. And so they did all this," said Sanvalia Sharma, police station in-charge of Gurua police station.
