N Korea warns of "sacred war" against US, S Korea
Seoul, Jul 24: North Korea has warned of a a "sacred war" against the United States and South Korea.
This warning came from the the country's National Defence Commission on Saturday, Jul 24 in response to the recent conclusion from a South Korean probe team that a North Korean submarine had torpedoed a South Korean warship killing 46 in Mar 2010.
The North's powerful Commission said that the country could strike its rivals at "any time necessary", based on its nuclear deterrent, in response to "reckless" military exercises by the allies.
"The army and people of the DPRK will start a retaliatory sacred war of their own style based on nuclear deterrent any time necessary in order to counter the US imperialists and the South Korean puppet forces deliberately pushing the situation to the brink of a war," the statement from National Defence Commission read.
