CPI-M chief's aide with 3 Maoists arrested in WB
Kolkata, Jul 23: The accused of Jharkhand MP killing in 2007 with other three Maoists were arrested in West Bengal on Friday, Jul 23.
"The four hardcore Maoists were arrested from Pitrakuli area near Ranjha forest in Salboni," said WB IGP Zulfikar Hassan.
Rajesh Munda, one of the arrested Maoists, was a top Maoist and known to be a close associate Kishenji.
Kishenji is politburo member and the military chief of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
Police said the four Maoists were responsible for carrying out operations and expanding their bases in Jharkhand and used to often come to Bengal for their activities.
Police official said, "Munda was booked in several cases in Bengal like abduction of Sainkrail officer-in-charge Atindranath Dutta and the bloody attack on Silda Eastern Frontier Rifle (EFR) camp on February 15, in which 24 jawans were killed."
