Centre to invite all parties for Kashmir talks
New Delhi, Jul 22: Central Government will invite all the opinions from each small and major party's for the resolution of
Kashmir issue and restore peace in the state. Sources from the Centre said that the invitation will be extended separately to all groups including the mainstream as well as separatist groups including both factions of Hurriyat Conference.
The initiative for this is already on progress by the state government and the Centre was building on that to carry forward the process. Letters of invitation will be sent to each party. The separate meetings with the Central government leaders may also include Home Minister P Chidambaram.
Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had asked Centre for initiating a dialogue with all parties in the state. He urged the Centre to reach out to those who are unwilling to talk.
He had also cited the example of the Centre's dialogue with Hizbul Mujahideen, in 1990, for which talks were initiated with the militant outfit.
