CBI summons Guj home minister Shah
Gandhi Nagar, Jul 22: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday, Jul 22 summoned Amit Shah, Gujarat Home Minister in relation with the alleged fake encounter and killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, the suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba activist.
Amit Shah has been accused of calling up police officials involved in the encounter. CBI claimed that they have got enough evidence against Shah.
The Anti-Terrorism Squad of the state has been accused of killing Sheikh in a staged encounter on Nov 26, 2005 in Ahmedabad.
CBI registered a case against the policemen of Gujarat and Rajasthan who were allegedly involved in the murder following a Supreme Court order on Jan 12. CBI had made the first arrest in this case detaining Gujarat's high profile IPS officer Abhay Chudasama, Ahmedabad's Deputy Commissioner of police.
