Mahesh Bhupati, wife Shweta formally part ways

Mumbai, Jul 16: Months after their marriage fell apart, tennis ace Mahesh Bhupati and wife Shweta have formally part ways.

Bandra Family Court on Thursday, Jul 15 granted them divorce on mutual consent.

“Mahesh and Shweta had sought for divorce last year which was granted today by the Bandra Family Court on mutual consent, due to incompatibility between the two," Mrunalini Deshmukh, common counsel for both the parties, was quoted as saying by a news agency.

The couple had announced their decision to end their seven-year-long marriage in Oct 2009.

"Shwetha and I have decided to go our separate ways, but continue to remain cordial," the tennis star had said.

In a separate statement on the divorce, his model-wife had just wished Bhupati well.
