Washington, uly 14 (ANI):Iranian nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri has claimed that he was kidnapped by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) last year.

"My abduction is a detailed story. I think I will be unable to get into details during this limited period of time and I will postpone it to when I am hopefully in my dear country Iran, so I can speak to the media and my own people with ease of mind and tell them about my ordeal over the past 14 months, incidents that have been a mystery to many," The Telegraph quoted Amiri, as saying.

He added: "In Iran, I will thoroughly clarify the allegations made by foreign media and the US government which, in fact, have targeted my reputation."

American officials and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have denied that Amiri was kidnapped in Saudi Arabia and transferred to the United States against his will by the CIA.

"He's free to go. He was free to come. These decisions are his alone to make," Clinton said.

Officials refused to confirm that he had co-operated, whether voluntarily or not, with the CIA in revealing details of Iran's nuclear programme.

Amiri had disappeared while on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in late May last year.

While in the United States, Amiri made three videos.

In two, shown on Iranian television, he claimed to have been taken against his will, and tortured and put under psychological pressure. In the middle video, he said he was studying in the United States of his own free will.(ANI)
