Earthquake strikes Indonesia
Jakarta, Jul 14: United States Geological Survey reported that an earth quake struck the Indonesian province of Papua.
The earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was centred 231 kilometres west of Jayapura at a depth of 15 kilometres. Even though no tsunami warning was issued.
The island nation Indonesia lies in the 'Pacific ring of fire', a highly active earthquake and volcanic zone that regularly experiences quakes.
