US criticizes Uganda terror attack
Washington, Jul 12: The United States criticized terrorist strike in Uganda, in which at least 50 people were feared dead.
The terrorist attack in Uganda during the World Cup final Sunday, Jul 11 killed at least 50 and US noted that Americans may have been among those killed or injured.
The terror attack was targeted the people watching the FIFA World Cup at a restaurant and a rugby club in Ugandan capital Kampala.
Hillary Rodham Clinton, Secretary of State said on Sunday, Jul 11,"I join President Obama in strongly condemning today"s attacks in Kampala, Uganda targeting innocent spectators watching the World Cup final."
She also added, "we understand that American citizens may have been injured or killed and our embassy is reaching out to assist. Our condolences go out to the families and friends of the victims, in the United States and Uganda."
No one had yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Somali militants had threatened attacks in Kampala because Ugandan troops are in Mogadishu.
