'Bond' Button and 'villain' Hamilton dismiss Webber's suggestions of messy spat

By Samyuktha

London, July 9(ANI): British Formula One racing drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have dismissed Red Bull driver Mark Webber's suggestions of a growing feud between the McLaren teammates.

Hamilton, leading the current standings, entered into the spirit of things by kidding their relationship had entered the realm of James Bond.

"We're working very much on our acting careers and they seem to be going very well, because we're convincing all of you," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

"Jenson's going to be James Bond and I'm going to be the villain in the movie, so we're working on those roles," he added.

Button said that they have so far developed a solid relationship, despite many suggesting that his move to the team was a disaster waiting to happen.

"The important thing is that we work together. We do and that helps in the team. When you get on the circuit you want to beat each other. That's exactly the way it is," Button said.

"We're not on the circuit right now, we're talking to you. I wish we were on the circuit," he added.

Earlier, Webber had said that the 'friendly relations' between Hamilton and Button will turn messy when the Formula One title fight heats up.

Webber believes that the duo will clash on the track because they are fierce competitors fighting hard for championship glory.

"I believe they are working hard to put up a bit of smoke and mirrors, but those two are racing each other. They have not had the sort of incident Seb and I had - yet. But if you are racing at the front, inevitably it is going to come," Webber had said.

"I am not saying Hamilton and Button will hit each other this weekend. What I am saying is that it's inevitable given what is at stake and as both are hungry and driven," he added.

Hamilton has a six-point lead over Button going into Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone. (ANI)
