Bin Laden's son and wife split after 'he heard his dad's voice in his head'

London, July 9 (ANI): Osama Bin Laden's son Omar and his wife Zaina have parted ways - after he began to hear his father's voice in his head.

The 29-year-old son of the al-Qaeda mastermind was admitted to a psychiatric hospital last week with drug-induced schizophrenia.

It followed weeks of erratic behaviour during which he racked up 3,000 pounds of motoring fines and went on wild shopping sprees. I just can't cope with this any more. I love Omar with all my heart but I've asked him for a divorce," the Sun quoted Zaina as saying.

"Our wedding vows said 'In sickness and in health' but if this goes on any longer I could end up dead," she added.

Zaina, a grandmother of five from Cheshire, blamed Omar's problems on his father and the terrorist atrocities he caused.

"There's no one else responsible for this. Omar loves and hates Osama at the same time," she said.

"He loves him because he is his father, but hates what he has done. I think he suffered post- traumatic stress disorder after 9/11. Seeing what his dad had done ruined Omar's life," she added

However, Zaina has decided not to go to the court.

"But I haven't gone to court as I think this is more of a separation than a permanent split. I haven't taken off my wedding rings - why would I? I'm still married," she said.

"I still love Omar with all my heart - I just can't be with him until he's better," she added. (ANI)
