Afzal Cong's son-in-law: Nitin Gadkari
Dehradun, Jul 9: Nitin Gadkari, on Friday, JUl 9, said "Afzal Guru, the mastermind of the 2001 attack on parliament is a son-in-law of the Congress, who attacked the parliament with the motive to finish all the MPs."
Addressing a party rally in Dehradun, the BJP president Gadkari said "Afzal is not being hung as it will affect the vote bank of the Congress, and i will be surprised if the Congress ever hung 26/11 culprit Ajmal Kasab."
"The UPA is even unable to deal with the Kashmir crisis. China is infringing on Indian territory. Bangladeshis are entering India. India needs a nationalist party like the BJP to rule at the centre," said Gadkari.
Mohammad Afzal, also known as Afzal Guru, was convicted of conspiracy in the Dec 2001 attack on the Indian Parliament and was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of India in 2004. The sentence was scheduled to be carried out on 20 Oct 2006, but still his files are shuffling between the Delhi government and the Centre.
