Powerful bomb recovered on railway tracks in Assam
Tezpur, Jul 8: A powerful bomb was recovered on the railway tracks near Pasnoi bridge in Darrang district of Assam on Thursday, Jul 8.
The security officers recovered the bomb during the careful ransacking operations for exposives in the wake of three railway-track blasts by National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), the terror outfit in Assam.
The unexploded Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has been transferred to Mazbat police station and it will be defused later, informed the police officials.
The police officials also said that two passenger trains have been halted between Hagrajuli in Sonitpur district and Mazbat in Darrang district after the explosive was recovered. Rail traffic has been disrupted in the region after the operation.
