Islamabad, July 7(ANI): Aamir Rehman was reportedly dismissed as Deputy Attorney General (DAG) by the Pakistan Law Ministry because he declined to receive Law Minister Babar Awan at the Lahore Airport.
When asked if he knew the reasons behind his sacking, Rehman said that he was not sure whether he was shown the door for not receiving or accompanying the law minister.
"I am a professional lawyer and stay away from things like receiving or escorting the law minister or any other government figure because this has nothing to do with my official assignment," The News quoted Rehman, as saying.
He further said that the People's Lawyers' Forum (PLF) had been raising objections to his continuation as DAG, and it wanted some other lawyer to replace him.
Earlier, in April, Awan had dismissed another DAG, Shah Khawar, an old Pakistan People's Party (PPP) loyalist for not receiving him at the Supreme Court gate. (ANI)
