Chinese engineers' security enhanced in Pak Punjab following terror threats
Lahore, July 7(ANI): The security for Chinese engineers, working in different projects in Pakistan Punjab, has been enhanced following threats from terrorist groups.
Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Tariq Saleem Doger has issued a circular, directing senior police officers to submit the details of Chinese living in their respective regions to provide them security, The Daily Times reports.
China is currently undertaking 120 projects in Pakistan, and about 10,000 Chinese engineers are working on these projects.
Earlier, an intelligence agency report had warned the law enforcement agencies that terrorists are planning to attack Chinese engineers working at Nandipur Power Project in Sargodha division and those residing in Wapda Town in Gujranwala. (ANI)
