Ishrat Jahaan was an LeT bomber: Headley
New Delhi, Jul 6: Pakistani-American terrorist, David Coleman Headley has put an end to the questions raised over Ishrat Jahan's encounter by confirming that the Mumbai girl was indeed a Lashkar-e-Toiba bomber.
The girl was killed in a police encounter in Ahmedabad in Jun 2004. Ishrat's death sparked off a major controversy as several questions were raised against the Gujarat police on the girl's mother's claims that the she was innocent.
Now, official sources have revealed that the Laskar operative held in Chicago, Headley, told the four-member National Investigative Agency (NIA) team that Ishrat Jahan was a suicide bomber of the outfit.
The Gujarat police as well as the Centre have been maintaining that the girl was a terrorist who was in the state to attack Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The girl was accompanied by two Pakistani nationals, identified as Amjad Ali and Jishan Johar Abdul Ghani, who were also killed in the encounter after they were intercepted on the outskirts of Ahmedabad while travelling in a car.
