Capello warns England big stars to perform or perish

By Devaki

London, Jul 4 (ANI): England boss Fabio Capello has informed Football Association chiefs that he will dump his big stars if they don't show an immediate improvement in their game.

Capello, who is attempting to move on from the World Cup debacle, has put stars like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Steven Gerrard on a final warning.

England's Euro 2012 qualification battle starts in September and Capello will not hesitate to axe the stars if they are not able to come out of the World Cup hangover.

The FA has decided to back Capello for another two years and he has made it clear there will be a huge shake-up should England start poorly.

"For some players it will be the end of an era. We have to bring through the young players," News of the World quoted Capello, as saying.

Capello will name an experimental squad for next month's friendly with Hungary at Wembley.

Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell, Arsenal's Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs and Newcastle striker Andy Carroll are being considered.

Capello convinced FA chiefs he would be a better manager for having a tournament under his belt but knows he cannot afford any more mistakes. (ANI)
