Police arrests 3 Maoists in Jharkhand
Latehar (Jharkhand), Jul 1: Three Maoists including Area Commander of the People's Liberation Front of India were arrested in Latehar district of Jharkhand.
The rebels were arrested from a jungle near Chandawa of Latehar.
Three pistols, two rifles, 12 cartridges, 18 sim cards, eight mobile phones, one motorbike and one hundred thousand rupees in cash, collected as levy through extortion, were recovered from them.
Dewakar, area commander of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), was a known terrible criminal in this region.
"He was involved in many terrible criminal activities in the region. His sub-zonal commander was also arrested a few days ago and now after his arrest the hold of PLFI in the area has weakened to an extent," said Kuldeep Dwivedi, Superintendent of Police, Latehar.
